to the airport. if you are driving down the peninsula to redwood city, it's a nice drive. across the bay, we have slow traffic from 238 on down and in the santa clara valley we've had slow traffic and the 85 already. 7:07. let's go to -- let's go to steve. >>> this is a colder pattern. this may last a while. 7, 10, 15 day -- 15 days. there's a pattern with stronger systems coming in. christmas week could be kind of rainy and snowy as well. i almost had to choke there for a second. i'm okay now. coming down from cape mendocino there could be some snow. we need that because the snow level was way too high. but that's changing. there's not a lot of life with the system. heard from steve bridges up in the keys, 2 inches at lake level. it will be more of a powdery. you can see some scattered showers around, nothing widespread or anything. just kind of -- there was some towards orinda, san rafael, berkeley, emeryville, san mateo, redwood city, heading over towards the hayward side. also along highway 1 towards woodside, skyline, 84. san gregoireia and then towards the santa cruz mountains. there's been

city where there was flooding they saw flooding on bike trails, parking lots up to the doorsteps of some businesses. today is expected to be the peak. king tides happen when the sun and moon align to the gravitational pull brings more water on to the shore. people knew it was happening but still surprised by the amount of water. >> there was flooding, i had no idea it was that bad. >> how long have you been riding here? >> i right everyday or try. and oakland. let's go back to the desk. >>> daily city and skyline boulevard is closed on john daily boulevard because there is an accident. news chopper 2 is flying over and several police agencies are there now. brian flores is headed there as we speak and we will bring you more as we get more information. >>> an apartment fire has left six people homeless. these are pictures out at the scene where you can see crews are still there. the fire started a couple of hours on copperfield avenue near the bart station. now some units on both floors of the building were gutted. woman one said she saw -- one woman said she saw fire and firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading to the other units and fortunately nobody was hurt. one woman said the fire was set intentionally and the head of the fire department will ultimately determine the cause. >>> allie rasmus joins us from oakland with more on the investigation into how another fire started in an appliance building. >> reporter: it was firefighters from oakland 29 who responded to this fire and they were already pretty familiar with the

minutes as you work your way out of hayward towards foster city. traffic maps show new trouble spot on the peninsula as you head south on 1 01. new accident at briggs avenue involving several cars blocking several lanes of traffic. the scissors are picking up some slowing. you are less than 24 h yesterday the tide was 7.1 at the golden gate bridge. today it will be 7.2 the highest tide of the entire year to date. we talk about the warning signs. you can see one of them they're letting people know this parking lot of flood. we're sharing a video from yesterday of what it looked like during the high tide. yesterday it was at 9:45 a.m.. today at 1034. you can see the standing water 2 to 3 in. deep. some over the tops of this higher suspect. they had t close the on and planes. >> had to close the on and off ramps. >> they are warning people that will get back to day. to give you a point of reference. last week at the same time high tide was 5.2 at the golden gate bridge. today is its full to feed more than last week. we are expecting to see flooding in low-lying areas. >> they have put

into the city. no troubles at the san mateo bridge. the drive is 12 minutes from into an. southbound on 01 the golden gate bridge. a few cars in camera shot. the lanes are not reconfigured for the south bound trip. no--not too many cars on the span. >> new this morning one man has died after two people were found bound and gagged in the middle of the bayview district last night. here is video of the scene. the victims a male and female were found around 830 in the 900 block of brazil's street. both were taken to a local hospital with life- threatening injuries. officials say the man died just before midnight. his identity has not been released. the female victim's condition remains unknown at this time. no suspect have been arrested. anyone with information on this case is asked to call the san francisco police department. >> police in vallejo are searching near mare island for a missing fair oaks man. 7 to 7 mattingly was last seen saturday night around 5. those close to mattingly say he has-his tugboat dock on the mare island and took it out on the water frequently. police searched matt

. >> following a up the story a man and woman found bound and gagged on a city street off the man has since died that were found in the bayview district last night around 830. we turn to our solo reporter he is live outside. jackie sissel is outside of general hospital where the woman is in the hospital. jackie was the man pronounced dead last night or the dye cost? >> if he died at a hospital last night about midnight. at seventh set of general this were both victims were brought. there--at san francisco general this is where the victims were brought. around 830 last night on the noun hundred block of brussels in the bayview district--900 block to victims were found a male and female. both were transferred to san francisco general or the male victim believed to be in his 20s was pronounced dead. we are not sure of the woman's condition. they're not releasing any details. the last word we had what she had life-threatening injuries. much more in the way of questions than answers. we talked a spokesperson for the seventh to go police department asking for the public's heahelp. >> any information w

3:30 this morning. it was towards the peninsula side as you head into foster city. you're looking live at church. so delays are improving but it's still a backup. we were seeing delays. this two-car crash was reported just as a normal incident at first but again, one person was pronounced dead at the scene. so they have that closure down for quite some time. hopefully things are improving. all lanes are now open. you should use the dumbarton bridge just for the next maybe 15, 20 minutes. things should be good after 6:30. let's jump to the maps. we have a new trouble spot to report westbound 580 at high street. getting word of an accident where a vehicle may have hit a pedestrian in the road. no word yet if it's blocking the main lines of the freeway or if the accident happened on the off-ramp there. we'll get more details on this just a few minutes. we'll send it back to the news desk. >> thank you. >>> was it a playful planing or playful prank? a san francisco sergeant at first claimed responsibility for a high-speed joyride through a tunnel in town. elizabeth wenger reports. >>
